Great Monday Give: Doctor De Soto

The Great Monday Give is here gang, and the prize today is a hardcover copy of Doctor De Soto by William Steig. All you have to do to be entered to win this nice almost-vintage book in great condition (though it is inscribed, and the dust jacket has some damage, the actual book itself is almost-brand new) is comment on this post between now and Sunday, November 13 at 11:59 PM. A winner will be selected the next day and announced accordingly. (If you've never listened to the audio book of Shrek, Spinky, De Soto and the gang, Stanley Tucci and Meryl Streep do an amazing job of bringing the stories to life. Ten thumbs up!)

    Dr. DeSoto reminds me of Aesop's fables. I think it's great for children to hear a story where characters think on their feet!

    A great book to introduce kids to Steig. Mine double over in hysterics at the words "Keep Open!" from Dr. DeSoto.

    I love William Steig! I read "Abel's Island" to my 4th graders last year, and they loved it. Dr. De Soto is another great one. :)
