Such a cute book!
I don't know this one, but it reminded me of one of my daughters' all-time favorites: Henrietta and the Hat, about a horse who admires a farmer's brand-new hat, and patiently waits for it as it goes through all the iterations of usefulness on the farm. When it's finally too full of holes even to gather eggs in, it becomes hers, and the holes are perfect for her long ears. It was one of those ultra-cheap books with unremarkable illustrations that turned out to be just right, and my daughters asked for it again and again at bedtime . . .
I'm all sympathy--I've got a rotten cold right now, too, and it's amazing how much it saps you! Hope you're feeling better soon!
