Update Friday: D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths
My son has finally arrived at this book, and I couldn't be happier. Really, any child between the ages of five and 12 who doesn't have it in their personal library is totally missing out. This Update Friday... to celebrate my son's new found love of all things mythical, I've dusting off this post from a few summers ago and added new scans and commentary. Say hello again to the most fabulous of the most fabulous... D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths.
Remember, $3 flat rate shipping in the Continental US in my Etsy shop until Thanksgiving Day... so be sure and check it out! And if you are doing any Amazon shopping this holiday season, (like preordering a copy of my favorite blogger, Ward Jenkin's, Chicks Run Wild) please think of me and link through this site. Have a great one!

Read along on Facebook, tumblr, Twitter and Etsy!
My mom bought me this book when I was home sick with the flu or some other childhood illness, and I was completely hooked on it for ages. I still have that original copy, a bit tattered, a few pages falling out, but still more or less intact. Love it.
ReplyDeleteIf you're a D'Aulaire fan I highly recommend their Book of Trolls. My kids LOVE this one!
ReplyDeleteThis has been my favourite book since I was about 6! I am waiting for my Squink to be ready for it.
ReplyDeleteTotally love this book - and it helped my three kids ace literature class tests right through college. The middle one actually collected it when home on a break from his university - said it was better (and more fun to read) than the assigned Greek myth textbook for a course he was taking then.
ReplyDeleteLovely!! I bought this for my twins... its waiting in the shelf!
ReplyDeleteThey are 3 years old still... but the book is waiting patiently. And so am I.
Can't wait to read it to them!
Read Aloud Dad
This is one of my top five books from my own childhood! It was one of the first books I repurchased for my own daughter. And I second what raul says - Trolls is remarkable!!
