Finally Blogger is back up. Whew. Happy Monday all... and that means it's time for The Great Monday Give where I give a vintage book away to one lucky reader. This week's give is an awesome vintage hardcover of the Slobodkin classic Millions and Millions and Millions. All you have to do to be entered to win is comment on this post before 11:59 PM on Sunday, June 13. A winner will be selected at random and announced the next morning.
The last give was a few weeks back and the winner of their very own reprint copy of The Fabulous Firework Family is... drum roll drum roll... Amy who was kind enough to write...
"What a fabulous giveaway! I've been reading your blog for almost a year. Thanks for introducing me to some of your favorites. Jim Flora rocks!"
Congrats... Please e-mail me at webe(at)soon(dot)com and I'll get the book out this week. Thanks again for reading everyone, and I'll be back in the morning. Adios!

Oh, I love Slobodkin, but have not seen this one! I would love to win this one!
First! And Thanks for the heads-up on what looks like ANOTHER great kids book illustrator. Now I need to go find some more of his titles.

Thank you. I love vintage books. And I love coming here and getting a chance to win them. I haven't entered in awhile because I didn't want to seem greedy, but I just can't resist this week:-).
Ooh...another new one to me. I'd love a chance to win!
I'll put my hat in for this one (you're allowed to enter if you've won before, right?)!
Word verification: toncest. Like twincest, I guess, but with fat people.
Very cool. I know his illustrations for The Moffats but not this one. Is it about math? I'm strangely obsessed with math-themed picture books, especially old ones.
How do you find so many fabulous books? you must have some kind of good book vibe. this one looks charming! like all of them do!
I think this book sounds (and looks!) marvelous- I'm especially intrigued to see the beds and heads, once I read that it was one of your favorite parts! :)
Thank you for the opportunity!
I could spend hours and hours just reading all your posts. I learn so much back story that makes the actual stories so much more colorful.
what a fun book. My daughter always talks about millions and billions of people on Earth -- this would be perfect!
Slobodkin has what might be the best website for a deceased children's illustrator: http://www.slobodkin.org/books/index.html
Oh YEAH... enter me PLEASE. Thank you so much for offering great books and reviewing awesome ones!
I love collecting books from my childhood and you always have such treasures! This is one I'm not familiar with . . . please enter me.

Fantastic--my kids would love it!
I would love it
Thanks for the chance - this looks like another great one!
Awesome! I just picked up a copy of "The Hundred Dresses" by Estes / Slobodkin. Great stuff!
Not familiar with this book, so I would love to win it!
We're big Slobodkin fans here (*love* Nomi!), but this one is new to me!
I would love to win this! Looks like something both of my kids would enjoy (and I know I will!).
Also love Slobodkin, and don't know this one. Looks great!
I asume he's related to (the husband of?) Esphyr (sp?) Slobodkina of Caps for Sale? Anyway, I found your blog recently via the blog annieandunt@blogspot.com which is also about children's books.
I don't think they are related, but I could be wrong. Anyone?
ooh... I've been looking for this book forever!
I'm in! It looks wonderful. Also, it really is a pity about the excess realism in kids' books these days.
Millions of thanks for your continued shares. They make my day a million times better!
Thanks for the chance to add this one to our library.
Oooooh, this looks like a beautiful book, and I love this illustrator.
It would be wonderful to see more of the illustrations- it's great when a book gets to talk to kids about all kinds of beautiful random things!
And thanks for posting more about the great Jack Kent! Round Robin is so neat~
Thanks again for a great blog!
Thanks for the opportunity!
Thanks for this great giveaway! I LOVE vintage books! :)
This is a fantastic opportunity for me as I have been wanting this book. I am a high school mathematics teacher and still read books at times to my students. I have heard of Millions and Millions and Millions and would love to have a copy of this book. Please enter me into this giveaway that I would very much love to win! (Hint: my birthday is on June 16th.)
Thank you,
Christine
