This week's Great Monday Give is awesome in the best possible way. It is one of my all time favorite discoveries of the books I've found as a mom that I didn't know as a girl. A nice, gently-used hardcover of the out-of-print wonder-book The Little Tiny Rooster by Will and Nicolas. All you have to do to be entered to win is comment on this post before Sunday ~ November 2 ~ midnight. Really, if you've never left a comment before, do so now. This tiny rooster rocks!
As for last week's winner, let's give a big hand to Anne who will be recieving a copy of Calico the Wonder Horse or the Saga of Stewy Stinker by Virginia Lee Burton as soon as she sends her mailing info to webe(at)soon(dot)com. Believe it sister!
ooh comment #1!

ReplyDeletePick me! Pick me!

ReplyDeletei like this cover... Pick me!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the cover graphics - I'd love to add it to my son Cole's shelves.
ReplyDeleteI really wish the bookstores in my area (or the library sale for that matter) had such amazing children's treasures. I'm not finding much, but I keep looking.
Love your blog, by the way...
The art is lovely and your choices are always winners...I'm in.
ReplyDeleteCount me in -- we have been getting lots of good read time out of Crictor. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I stumbled on your blog! It's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHow do you find these books?
ReplyDeleteI must have this book for my elementary library. I adore the artwork. Too bad there is not a reissue.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'd love to have this one!
ReplyDeleteI'm sooo jazzed to see the song books. I had one I loved as a child that I cannot remember, but I think the illustrations were by Mary Blair and I can see it clearly in my mind's eye. I can remember laying on the shag rug in the family room listening/following along with a record for hours.
ReplyDeleteBetween this and "The Little Red Hen," our farm animal collection will be well on its way!
ReplyDeleteCock-a-doodle-doo!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun book.
ReplyDeleteHello...stumbled across your blog and I am so excited to see another Mom interested in vintage children's books. I'm so glad that I can now pass on this love/healthy obsession of books to my son...who has most definately picked up the reading bug...it must be 2 books before bedtime with no exceptions allowed. My Mom started the ritual with me by purchasing a Little Golden Book every trip to the grocery store no matter how little money there was to spend on food I always got a book. The love of a mother has no bounds. It seems I have several of the same books you have including several Will and Nicolas books that I have been lucky enough to find (thrifting is my favorite pastime)...what pulls me in in the great artwork and the story keeps me in the moment with my son. I'm looking forward to reading more...
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious cover! I can imagine its contents are even better.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to have found this blog....what a treasure! I am always searching for new/old books to share with my son...or keep to m yself for a bit before sharing. You can never have too many good books.
